The splendid Louis XV desk in question is a model of the refined French cabinetmaking, and in particular Parisian, of the mid-eighteenth century, with a writing desk concealment inside six small houses, open vanets and with a secret cockpit.
The surface, masterfully veneered and threaded in rosewood (bois de violette and bois de rose), plays on the arrangement of the veins with a particular rhomboid motif.
Undoubtedly it is a piece of furniture that expresses the mastery of cabinetmakers active in Paris in the 18th century: among them stands out the name of the famous Pierre II Migeon (Paris, 1696 - 1758), who created a model of a bureau de pente similar to the one proposed , both for the structure and for the rhomboid inlay.
