Pair of large, beautifully crafted sculptures depicting panthers, made of bronze using the lost wax casting technique and dating back to the 20th century, inspired by the design and subjects of the Art Deco period with an animalier style.

The artist has skilfully captured the elegance and strength of these creatures, which are particularly fascinating for their realistic attention to detail and endowed with a remarkable sense of plasticity through the use of extraordinarily modern lines.

The works, of French manufacture, are inspired by the famous creations of the sculptor Rembrandt Bugatti (Milan 1884 - Paris 1916), a Milanese who moved to Paris and Antwerp, creator of the famous Walking Panther (Panthère marchant) around 1904. During his lifetime, he was particularly appreciated in artistic circles, as his animal sculptures demonstrated his keen observation skills and empathy towards his subjects, inspiring many of his colleagues.

Many artists of the Art Deco period, especially French and Italian, specialised in and enjoyed great popularity for their animal models, particularly exotic ones such as elephants and gazelles, with a particular preference for predators such as panthers and lions.
