important [...] "hilly landscape with rural scene" (oil painting on canvas, 79 x 109 cm ), in which the many herds - oxen, cows, goats and sheep - play a prominent role, as they are inserted in the first plan with a precise and precise representation, typical of a specialist.

The general inventiveness also reflects a clear inspiration from the Roman landscape with a direct recovery of the Temple of Vesta at Tivoli in the circular building, with a glimpse of an aqueduct behind it, placed at the top of the hill on the right.

For its part, halfway up the steep rocky wall, there is a tasty rustic scene with a shepherd showing a small lamb born to the little son who, rising from his mother's knees, reaches out.

The figurative and exhibition peculiarities of this landscape immediately bring back the prolific German Roos family, in particular to Johann Heinrich Roos (Otterberg 1631 - Frankfurt 1685), ancestor of the illustrious Roos family.
