A pair of Louis XV-style mirrors of Venetian manufacture, in carved and gilded wood, adorned with carved ornamental motifs typical of the 18th-century Rococo style, though still strongly influenced by Baroque elements, with plant tendrils and flowers creating a sinuous profile.

The upper section is surmounted by a large openwork floral motif, typical of 18th-century decorative repertoire, and the internal frame in which the mirror is set, with its contoured sides, as well as the complexity of the details, highlight the grace and elegance typical of Venetian craftsmanship of this period, demonstrating the master carver’s excellent technical skill.

CONDITION:

The condition is good, taking into account the fragility and age of the two pieces. Restorations. Antique mirrors, mercury-gilded, with defects typical of the period.

We arrange and organise the transport of purchased items, both within Italy and abroad, using professional and insured carriers.

You can also view the mirrors at our gallery in Riva del Garda; we would be delighted to welcome you and show you our collection of works.
